Kumite Jutsu
Yonkyu (Green Belt)

 

1. Monkey Elbow. (A1-4,B1-2,CD). Handshake.
A1.) Hop forward 45° left with left to crane, left palm heel/grab his right elbow, pull his right arm past right hip with both hands, right round house knee to solar plexus; plant back left with right, re-adjust grip with right, left forearm on his right elbow; pivot 180°; kneel with left; adjust for pin.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’; plant forward behind his right leg, right side elbow to face or inside forearm to left side of neck
A3.) Start as ‘A1’; plant forward behind his right leg, right web-hand strike then grab to throat, left crane hook his right crook of elbow; pivot 180° to bow, pull down with the left throw him to ground with the right.
A4.) Left leg forward. Start as ‘A1’; after knee, right side kick to left knee; finish as in ‘A1’.
B1.) Step forward with left to fighting stance, place left tiger mouth on the back of his right wrist, push right hand back against tiger mouth (palm heel against fingers) to lock his arm straight; rotate his right arm counter clockwise and up to block punch; cross back left with right, pivot to naihanchi, place his right elbow on left shoulder, pull down with both hands, break elbow; lift arm up; pivot 90° left to neutral bow, left rear elbow to right ribs.
B2.) Start as in ‘B1’; then left rising wing strike to right elbow; cross back in advance 45° left with right, pivot, maintain pressure on his arm, spin him to right round house kick.
C.) Step forward with left to cat, catch right elbow with crook of left elbow, straighten his right arm, push down with right, lift up with left; wrench his right arm to the left and up; bend his right wrist, push right arm up with right; slap right ear with left palm; rotate his body clockwise; step back with right to naihanchi; rotate right hand to his right elbow crook, left hand to throat; throw on left knee, spine on knee, slide right hand to biceps, left choke, apply pressure.
D.) Step forward with left to cat, left punch right biceps; step forward with left to fighting stance, slide left arm between right arm and ribs from the back; his right elbow in crook of left arm, bend his right wrist; transfer his right hand to left hand; pull back on hand, cross back in advance with right, pivot, take down.

2. Silk Wind. (AB1-2,C1-3). Right wrist grab.
A.) Right arm. Step forward 45Ί left with left, left hand grab his right outside wrist, rotate right hand clockwise to free; step forward along the 45Ί line with right, counter grab his right hand right thumb against back of his middle knuckle, left thumb slides along side right thumb to index finger knuckle, twist his hand counter clockwise to lock; pivot to fighting stance, push down to takedown.
B1.) Right arm. Step forward with right to cat, push left palm heel against his right knuckles; open right fist, twist hand counter clockwise; bring right elbow over and forward to his center chest; pin his right fingers to your right wrist with left, slide right fingers over his right wrist to lock apply pressure, drop him to ground; step back with right to left cat, step left with left, pivot to right, kneel with left, left elbow to his right elbow.
B2.) Strong grip. Step forward 45° right with right, push his right arm right with left palm against his right elbow; slide left hand down to fingers, pin with left; lock with right, apply pressure; step back with right to naihanchi, pull his right arm, squat, put left knee on right elbow; pivot right and kneel with left on his right elbow, pull up.
C1.) Left arm. Step forward 45° right with right; place left palm heel (palm up) just below his left elbow, push right and up, open right hand, web on his wrist, circle counter clockwise, place his bent left wrist on the right pectoral muscle, elbow up; slide left hand down to his left wrist; cross back in advance with left; pivot; bring right elbow up and over his left elbow, right downward wing strike, kneel with right.
C2.) Left arm. Step forward 45° right with right; open right hand, circle counter clockwise, place his left wrist on the right pectoral muscle, elbow up, place left hand crane hook on top of his elbow; step right with the left; apply pressure downward with both hands (keep his hand tight against the chest), bend forward at the waist, step back right – left and kneel with the left.
C3.) Left arm, reversed grip. Step forward with right; pin his left fingers with left to our right wrist; right elbow over and forward, apply pressure for take down.

3. Kung Fu Wrist. (A1-2,BCDE). Double wrist grab.
A1.) Twist wrists to thumbs up, pull straight up and back against his thumbs; right front snap kick to groin; double outward knife hand strike to hands, plant forward with right to fighting stance, double knife hand strike to collar bones.
A2.) Rotate hands to palms up on top of his arms, right front snap kick to groin, plant forward with right to fighting stance, double thumb strike to eyes.
B.) Step forward with right to cat, grab left wrist with left, twist right wrist, free and right punch face.
C.) Circle both arms 360° counter clockwise to dislodge his hold, left hand on top of right; step forward with right to cat, double punch, left to face, right to solar plexus.
D.) Step forward with right to cat, lower body, place left inside forearm against back of his left hand, pull to body with left, right hand pushes against his left fingers; right hand against stomach, circle body down, up, and forward, lock his left elbow straight and force his arm up; extend his left fingers with right wrist, twist right hand clockwise, catch his left fingers; twist his left hand counter clockwise, catch back of his wrist with left; bring right forearm over his left forearm, cross back 45° right forward with left, kneel with right, take down.
E.) Step forward with left to cat, twist right palm up and push right arm forward 45° left, his left hand on top of his right forearm, twist right hand palm down and toward his right wrist, bring left elbow up, twist left hand clockwise, opening up his right hand; rotate left elbow down and left hand counter clockwise, catch his right fingers with left; finish like “Sleeves of China ‘F’”.

4. Crossing Guard. (A1-3,BCD). Rear shoulder pinch/grab.
A1.) Same time: chin to chest, step back 45° right with left, bend forward 45°, left knife hand to groin; pivot to naihanchi, body parallel to ground, left hand lowers to right side of his knee, head under his grip, right reverse knife hand to groin; continue motion, step 225° left with right to fighting stance.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’; right reverse knife hand to groin; double palm heel ‘fan’ strike (left to right ankle, right to right upper knee) to knock down; grab heel with right, toes with left, twist clockwise, step between his legs with right foot, place his right foot on right side of lap, right knee to ground with right shin in his right knee joint; slide left leg to left over his left leg; lean forward for pain.
A3.) Start as ‘A1’; right reverse knife hand to groin; stand up, (head between his arms), double knife hand thrust (palms up) to throat; step forward with right, right side elbow to left side ribs, right punch to face, shift to bow, and left palm heel to heart or four finger eye shot.
B.) Step right to naihanchi, grab top of his wrists, pull arms over head; step forward with right, pivot to seisan (facing him), cross arms right on top; right front snap kick to groin; plant forward with right to fighting stance, right side elbow to left side of head.
C.) Step left to naihanchi, grab his wrists and cross back left with right; pivot to fighting stance, chin to chest, under and crossing his arms; right front snap kick to left knee, plant forward and pivot to fighting stance with right, push forward with right arm and pull back with left, break right elbow; circle right high rear supported elbow to face/low rear to ribs.
D.) Start as ‘B’; crescent step back with left to naihanchi, swing right arm counter clockwise against his left arm, break right elbow; cross over in advance with right, release left arm, raise right arm over head, crescent step with left to naihanchi (behind him); swing broken arm behind his back to arm lock; sweep or naihanchi kick with right; throw down on broken arm.

5. Encircling Arms. Set II. (ABCD). Circling tackle.
A.) Cross back right with left, left palm to top of his head right hand overhead; pivot to fighting stance, right knife hand strike to back of neck, follow through; reverse, and chop to throat; right side kick to knee.
B.) Cross back right with left, left palm to top of his head, circle right arm forward and up; allow to catch waist with left; pivot to fighting stance, continue circle with right to uppercut position, break his left elbow; keep left arm pinned to side, left rising knee to body; plant forward with left, left hand on top of his left shoulder, right arm circles counter clockwise and right hammer fist to right side neck; right hand grab left side face and twist counter clockwise, left hand push down on left shoulder, cross back left with right, step back with left and kneel with left, twisting and pulling his back down on right knee; circle right dropping. elbow counter clockwise to face, continue circle with right tiger claw to face, and around to right hammer fist to heart or right clavicle; stand up to natural stance, he falls to ground; shift counter clockwise and drop left knee to throat.
C.) Step left with left, left hand catch his right, right low forearm strike to right biceps; slip right hand between his right side and right arm, pull toward chest, palm facing in; slide left forearm outside (and higher than) our right arm, also pulling in, palm in; remove right arm to outside of his right arm and grab back of our left hand, pin tightly to chest; step forward left 45° with left to seisan, cross back with right, pivot to fighting stance, right rising knee to solar plexus; cross back 45° left forward with right and pivot to bow; place chest on top of hands and force down against his shoulder joint, kneel with left; adjust to pin.
D.) Step right with right, sweep down and outside with right to left inside forearm; pin his left forearm to right forearm with left hand, continue motion with right to small circle lock; cross back right with left, pivot and kneel with right.

6. Flashing Wings. (ABC). On knees.
A.) Right knee. Right downward horizontal forearm to thigh (stopping it), left hand to guard, continue to right vertical position (deflecting it left); rotate right arm counter clockwise, elbow up, right knife hand to groin; double palm heel `fan’ strike (left to right ankle, right to right upper knee) to knock him down.
B.) Right front snap kick. Right hammer fist strike, palm up, to kick; pivot body to rear, right back knuckle strike to groin; place both hands on ground, right rear kick to groin or body.
C.) Right front snap kick. X-block, right on top; grab heel with right, toes with left, twist clockwise, knee down; rise to standing, right front snap kick to groin, back of left thigh; let go of foot, plant forward with right to fighting stance, double downward punches to kidneys; step forward with left, right heel stomp base of spine.

7. Arm Sweep. (A1-4,B1-2,C1-2). Two hand push.
A1.) High. Step back with left to cat, double outward crane parry and catch wrists; pull arms hard to hips, right front snap kick to body; plant forward with right to fighting stance, left hand to guard, right rising elbow to chin; right tiger claw to face.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’; right arm figure 8 (back knuckle twist, back knuckle ); continue motion, right side elbow to left side of head, left palm to right side; pivot right to dropping stance buckle right knee, hands to guard; right scoop kick to groin, plant back with right to fighting stance; speed shift left leg back; left 45° kick to left inside thigh.
A3.) Start as ‘A1’; maintain grip on right wrist, release left grip, swing right inside forearm against his right inside upper arm nerve point; slip right hand between his right side and right arm, pull toward chest, palm facing in; slide left forearm outside (and higher than) our right arm, also pulling in, palm in; remove right arm to outside of his right arm and grab back of our left hand, pin tightly to chest; step forward left 45° with left to seisan, cross back with right, pivot to fighting stance, right rising knee to solar plexus; cross back 45° left forward with right and pivot to bow; place chest on top of hands and force down against his shoulder joint, kneel with left; adjust to pin.
A4.) Start as ‘A1’; plant forward 45Ί left with right, maintain grip on his wrists; bring his arms overhead; cross back with left, pivot to fighting stance; with pressure on his elbow cause him to flip onto his back.
B1. Low. Step back with left to cat, double inward scooping crane parry and catch wrists; continue as ‘A1’.
B2.) Start as ‘B1’ to fighting stance, right arm figure 8 (hammer fist left jaw, back knuckle right ); shuffle forward, right rising elbow to chin; right dropping back knuckle to chin; pivot forward to bow, left tiger claw to face; pivot to fighting stance, right uppercut tiger fist to throat.
C1.) High. Step forward with left, double inward parry catching the wrists with tiger mouths, push his left arm back (across and on top of his right forearm), his right hand against and on top of your right elbow; cross back in advance 45 Ί left forward with the right, Kenpo lock his right arm; pivot 180 Ί, kneel on left for take down.
C2.) Low. Step forward with left to cat, double downward open hands between his arms; circle to outside, catch wrists with tiger mouths, continue motion and position his arms like ‘C1’, then finish.
