(3rd Brown Belt)
1. Hand Staff. (A1-6,B1-2,C1-2,D1-3). Club attack.
A1.) Overhead. Hop forward left side with left to fighting stance,
X-block with outside of forearms, right on top, to his right wrist; circle down,
right hand to his right wrist, left vertical forearm on his elbow, step right
with left to fighting stance, push forward with left, pull back with right to
bend him over; circle left elbow clockwise to spine.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’; step back with right, pivot 180° to half bow, break right
elbow.
A3.) Cross back left with right, X block with back of hands, right inside, catch
wrist with both; pivot to naihanchi, pull right arm down to left shoulder, break
elbow; release, pivot upper body left rear, left supported elbow to heart; pivot
to right twisted stance, right spinning forearm to right side neck.
A4.) Hop forward left with left to fighting stance, right outward upward palm to
right wrist back of his hand; left uppercut to Tw-12; grab right wrist with
right; pulling down, rotate his elbow clockwise and up with left; left arm to
back outside of elbow, maintain right grip, step back with right, pull with
right and press down with left horizontal forearm, snap right arm down, kneel on
right knee; drop left knee on top of right elbow, grab right wrist with left,
pull up with both hands; break right elbow.
A5.) Hop forward left with left to fighting stance, X-block with back of hands,
(right on top), to his right wrist; circle down, right hand sliding to club,
left tiger mouth on his wrist; strike Gv-16 and continue through; step forward
with right, remove club from grip with right, maintain grip loosely (to allow
rotation of his wrist), lift his right arm up overhead with left, cross back in
advance with left, pivot to fighting stance; strike Tw-12; reverse direction,
strike up to crook of right arm to bend; rotate club clockwise to arm lock;
change grip, step forward left - right and kneel with left for takedown
A6.). Start like ‘A5’ but; club to groin; cross over in advance with right,
right rising palm heel to jaw or face; drop right supported finger into right
eye, left hand on right shoulder pivot to bow, take down.
B1.) Side. Step forward with right to cat, left palm heel to right
biceps, right 45° palm heel strike to solar plexus.
B2.). Step forward with right to fighting stance, double palm heel, (left to
wrist, right to biceps); catch with left pull, right outside forearm to right
side of neck; circle right arm under his right arm, step right with right to
bow, twist right outward to outside forearm against his right shoulder, left
hand reverse grip on his right wrist, push wrist forward, take down like
‘pin of a 1000 years’.
C1.) Backhand. Step forward with left to fighting stance, double knife
hand strike, right to wrist, left to Tw-10; cross back 90° left with right,
catch his right wrist with right, left hand on right elbow; pivot to bow, swing
him around, kneeling with left, force him down.
C2.) Step forward with right to cat, place left palm on outside right elbow,
right strike face; circle right arm around right wrist, catch with crook of
right arm, right elbow tight to right side, left palm on right elbow; step back
with right pivot to left kneeling and take down
D1.) Right PR-24 thrust. Hop forward left side with left to fighting
stance, with right elbow crook hook his right wrist, pull in towards body, left
elbow crook to his right elbow in uppercut motion; break his right arm; step
back (left) with right, twist upper body to swing him around; reverse direction
180º, crane hook and pin his elbow to your left side, reverse knife hand to left
side of his neck.
D2.) Back against wall. Step forward with left to cat; suck in stomach,
downward circular parry with right, catch his right hand and wrist, left inside
forearm strike, to right biceps; cross back left with right; pull with right and
rotate left elbow up, against his right shoulder blade; reverse left arm to
vertical forearm; pivot to naihanchi, apply pressure to right elbow joint, drive
head into wall; pivot 90° right, kneel with left and break right elbow.
D3.) Hop forward left side with left to fighting stance, left inward parry,
right circling outward back hand parry (fingers down) right arm, right supported
finger hook to right eye; step forward with right to fighting stance, right side
elbow to head, left hand on arm; cross back with right, right back knuckle to
face, left hand on his upper right arm; catch right arm with right, slide down
to wrist, pivot to fighting stance; pull with right, left tiger claw to face;
slide left forearm to elbow, step forward with left to fighting stance, break
elbow.
2. Seven Swords.
(AB1-3). Two hand push, Right punch.
A.) Step back with left to fighting stance, double outward knife hand strike his
push; right knife hand to left side neck, left hand on top; left knife hand to
chin, right hand guard; right knife hand to left cheek, left hand under triceps;
reverse right hand, pull back, crane claw face (twisting head), left knife hand
to throat; right hand cocked by right ear; cross back 45° right with left, pivot
to fighting stance, right knife hand to left side of neck, continue motion,
reverse and right knife hand to right side of neck or throat, left hand guard;
right side kick either leg.
B1.) Right punch. Step forward with right to fighting stance, left knife
hand strike to right arm, right knife hand St-5, pivot forward to bow, left
knife hand to right side of his neck; pivot back to fighting stance, right knife
hand to L-13, left hand to guard; cross back 45° right with left, stretch left
hand in front of face, right hand cocked by right ear, pivot to fighting stance,
left crane claw rake eyes, (twisting his head) left hand guard; finish like ‘A’.
B2.) Start like ‘B1’, right uppercut to solar plexus, left hand to guard; left
outward crane claw to face, right knife hand circles counterclockwise to his
left side neck, while left hand circles to guard position; rotate right hand
counterclockwise; left hand circles counterclockwise under right arm, right
outward crane claw to face, shift to twisted stance, left knife hand to throat,
shift to fighting stance, right circles clockwise, uppercut to chin; shift 180°
to reverse bow right stiff leg rear kick to groin.
B3.) Step forward with right, left brushing parry, pivot to fighting stance,
right knife hand to right side of his neck, pivot to bow, left palm heel to
chin, right hand guard; right palm heel 45° strike solar plexus, left hand under
triceps; cross back 45° right with left, left supported finger to right eye,
hook socket, right hand cocked by right ear, pivot to fighting stance, pull with
left (twisting his head) to guard; finish like ‘A’.
3. Flowing Hands Feet of Jade.
(A1-3,BC1-2,D1-3,EFG). Two attackers grabbing.
A1.) Shoulders grabbed. Pin hand to right shoulder with left; step right
with right to fighting stance, right knife hand to throat; cross over left with
right; pivot to fighting stance, counter grab his arm with left, right knife
hand (palm up) to left side neck.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’; cross over left with right, right fingertip eye rake, left
hand under arm in guard; pivot to fighting stance, left knife hand to throat,
cross back 45° right with left, pivot, right reverse knife hand to left side
neck.
A3.) Circle both hands counter clockwise crane claw to faces, hook their arms at
the elbows; step forward with right to fighting stance, continue circling motion
to uppercuts, double hammer fist to their sides; circle behind and grab back of
their heads, slam faces together.
B.) Shoulders and elbow. Step right with right to fighting stance, right
hammer fist to groin; cross over left with right, left hammer fist to groin.
C1.) Shoulders and wrist. Pivot 90° left, right rear kick to body; feet
together, pivot 180°, left rear kick to body.
C2.) Closer. Right side kick to knee; feet together, left side kick to
knee.
D1.) Back grabs shoulders, front right punch. Same time: left parry right
punch, right hammer fist groin or body, right front snap kick to groin; right
rear kick to groin, right palm heel or tiger claw to face.
D2.) Rear too close. Same as ‘D1’ to front snap kick; stutter step left,
right side kick to knee or body, right palm heel or tiger claw to face.
D3.) Rear too close. Same as ‘D1’ to front snap kick; right rear kick to
miss, right palm heel tiger claw to face; sweep right leg forward against back
of legs, double palm heels to chest.
E.) Back grabs shoulders, front right punch. Left inward parry right
punch; step forward with right, right side elbow to face; pivot 180º, left elbow
to right side ribs, left hand to guard; (back advances to re-grab) step forward
to fighting stance, right rising elbow to chin; pivot right leg to dropping
stance, right hammer fist to groin.
F.) Bearhug (fib), front right punch. Same time: trap block right punch,
right front snap kick groin; right tiger claw to face, plant right with right to
naihanchi; finish “Bearhug (fib)”.
G.) Bearhug (pib), front punch. right front snap kick to groin, left
front snap kick to throat; finish “Bearhug (pib)”.
4. Swirling Leaves.
(A1-2,B1-3,C1-2). Right - Left or Left - Right punch.
A1.) Right - left punch. Step back with right to fighting stance, left
crane hook right wrist, right hand to guard; left palm heel left arm; right hand
to guard; left one finger eye shot.
A2.) Right - left punch. Start as ‘A’; right outward parry counter grab
left arm, left thumb eye shot.
B1.) Left - Right punch. Right crane hook left punch, left crane hook
right punch, right front snap kick groin; plant forward with right; pivot to
fighting stance, right uppercut jaw; right dropping palm heel to his nose, left
hand to guard; right palm heel to solar plexus, rising elbow to chin, dropping
back knuckle to chin; pivot forward to bow, left palm heel under chin; pivot to
fighting stance, right uppercut tiger fist to throat.
B2.) Start as ‘B1’then; right rising elbow to jaw, right dropping palm heel to
his nose, left hand to guard; right palm heel to solar plexus, right palm heel
to chin, right tiger fist throat, right four finger eye shot.
B3.) Start as ‘B1’; plant forward behind his right foot, left hand to right
wrist, right dropping palm heel to chin; circle right arm down counter clockwise
back and right dropping elbow to heart; right tiger claw to face, walk forward,
kneel on right, throw on back.
C1.) Left - Right punch. Step forward with right, right inward parry,
left outward parry counter grab left punch, right outward parry counter grab his
right arm; sweep right arm counter clockwise and down; left side elbow strike
right side of head.
C2.) Start as ‘C1’ except; left reverse knife hand to back of head (Gv-16);
then; slide left forearm down to his right elbow for takedown.
5. Brush of Danger.
(A1-2,B1-2,C1-2,D1-2). Right hook punch.
A1.) Step forward 45° left with left to low naihanchi; left hand guards left
side of head, right arm guard; pivot, to half bow stance, right uppercut to
heart point (use forward momentum of leg drive, body torque, lifting of the
knees, and pelvic thrust); bends forward, rise to balls of feet, pivot
180°, drop body weight; 45° dropping forearm strike to back of neck with left.
A2.) Step forward with left (under punch) to half bow, right reverse knife hand
to groin; pivot 180°; right back hand hook and strike to back of neck, pull
down, left hammer fist to kidney.
B1.). Start as ‘A1’, remains upright; continue through; reverse 180°,
right back knuckle to right kidney, left hook to right ribs, continue through;
reverse 180°, left back knuckle, right uppercut to right ribs, continue through;
reverse 180°, right-left circular chops to right side of neck.
B2.) Start as ‘B1’; reverse 180°, right back knuckle to right kidney, continue
through; reverse 180°, left hand pull his right arm down, right elbow to face.
C1.) Start as ‘B1’; left upward outward blocking strike to right punch; shift
forward to bow, right elbow to right ribs; pivot 180°, left elbow right back
ribs, right hand to right side; pivot 180°, left outward parry sweep and grab
his right arm, right tiger claw face; adjust right hand to throat grab; right
front leg raise behind his body; right foot sweep back of legs, takedown.
C2.) Start as ‘C1’ to right elbow strike; right front leg raise behind his body,
right back knuckle kidney, left hand to guard; right tiger mouth throat, left
hand outward circular parry and catch his right, right foot sweep back of legs,
takedown.
D1.) Step forward with left, left inward brushing parry, right middle knuckle
uppercut to Tw-12 or H-1; shift forward to bow, right side elbow to right ribs,
left hand to guard, pivot 180° to bow stance, right back knuckle to kidney, left
palm to Gv-17; reverse to bow stance, left hand to guard, right reverse knife
hand to groin.
D2.) Miss. Continue motion, right arm circles clockwise to right wrist,
crane hook with right, cross back left with right, pivot 180° to bow, left
vertical forearm to right elbow; break elbow.
6. Arcing Blades and
Snapping Twigs.
(A1-2,B1-2). Right hook punch.
A1.) Step forward with right to fighting stance, double knife hand strikes: left
to right wrist, right to right biceps; pivot to bow, right-left circular chops
to right side of neck; pivot to fighting stance, right rising elbow to jaw, left
hand to guard; pivot to dropping stance, right hammer fist to groin; pivot to
fighting stance, dropping back knuckle to chin; pivot forward to bow, left palm
heel under chin; pivot back to fighting stance, right uppercut tiger fist to
throat, left hand to guard.
A2.) Double knife hand strike (left to wrist, right to biceps), right front snap
kick groin; plant forward with right, right-left circular chops to right side of
neck; pivot to fighting stance, right rising elbow to jaw, left hand to guard;
pivot to dropping stance, right hammer fist to groin; pivot forward to bow,
right back knuckle to philtrum; left knife hand to throat, right hand chambered;
shift to fighting stance, right punch to heart, left hand by right shoulder.
B1.) Step forward with right to fighting stance, double knife hand strike
forearm and biceps; right knife hand to right side neck, left grab right wrist;
speed shift right leg back, right crane hook right elbow; pull back with right,
push forward with left, right round house knee to solar plexus; plant forward
knee to knee, left dropping. elbow to spine; pivot 180° knee to knee, right
hammer fist to kidney; pivot 180° to bow, left hammer fist to Gv-16; both hands
on top of head and push down, left knee to face.
B2.) Elbow bends. Start as ‘B1’ until pull back; rotate arm clockwise
elbow up; right knee to chest; continue as in ‘B1’, -or- takedown; step back and
pivot 180° to left knee.
7. Attacking Circles.
(ABC1-2,D1-2,EF). Attacks.
A.) Step forward with left to fighting stance, cover head with both hands;
shuffle forward, grab back of neck with both hands, pull in, head butt to face;
maintain grip, right round house knee to body, left round house knee to body,
right knee to face; pull head down right, right dropping elbow to back of head
point, left dropping elbow to 7th cervical, continue with elbows to ground.
B.) Step forward with left to seisan, left circular back knuckle to face, right
punch to body; left hook to head or arms, cross back in advance with left, pivot
to twisted stance, right spinning forearm to neck.
C1.) Step forward with right to cat, double thumb strike (right to left rib
point, left to right shoulder point); pivot to fighting stance and right side
elbow to left side of head, left palm heel to right side.
C2.) Step forward with right to fighting stance, double thumb strike (left to
right heart point, right to left side neck point); reverse hands and double
thumb strike (right to solar plexus, left to throat).
D1.) Left leg forward. Sweep left leg with right; plant forward to
twisted stance; step forward with left to seisan, left hand grab throat, right
hand guard; pivot 180° to Bo, left hand pull (trip over left leg) to front,
right punch left side of head.
D2.) Same as ‘D1’; but’ naihanchi kick to left knee with right.
E.) In a boxing guard. Step forward with left, left hook punch between
face and guards catching both arms; cross back in advance with right, pivot to
fighting stance, left elbow to right side of head; step forward right with left,
catch both shoulders; finish is optional.
F.) Step forward with the right, right four knuckle rake to the nose; circle
right arm under left arm, left four finger eye shot; right knife hand to the
throat, left hand to guard; left tiger claw grab to the groin, right hand to
left shoulder; right side elbow to the face. left hand pulls back to left
pectoral; right dropping back knuckle to the face; pivot to bow, left punch to
the heart; shift to fighting stance right uppercut to chin/tiger mouth to
throat.
