Kumite Jutsu
Gokyu (Blue Belt)
1. Crouching Falcon.
(AB). Two hand push.
A.) Step forward with right to bow, Wedge strike (between arms) and crane claws
to eyes; catch right arm with left, pivot to fighting stance, pull in with left,
right rising elbow to jaw; right dropping tiger claw to face; shift clockwise to
twisted stance, left hammer fist to groin, right hand open guard; twist counter
clockwise to fighting stance, right tiger mouth to throat, left fist guard;
shift forward to right half bow, left punch to heart point; shift to slight
right reverse half bow, right punch to face; right lift kick to groin, plant
forward 45° right with right to fighting stance; left 45° (Thai) kick to inside
left leg.
B.) Step forward with left, double outward knife hand blocking strike his push;
right knife hand to left side neck, left hand on top; pivot to fighting stance,
left knife hand to throat, right hand by right ear; pivot forward to bow, right
knife hand to left side floating ribs, left hand by right ear; pivot 180° to
dropping stance, left knife hand to groin.
2. Crescent Moon. (AB1-2,CD).
Right punch.
A.) High. Same time: left inward parry and catch his right wrist,
right arm sweeps low across body, (arm straight), right naihanchi kick to knee;
rotate right arm up (inside), left hand down (outside) below right elbow; right
punch face, left pull his right arm to our right armpit; slide down and catch
top of punch with left (palm down), catch bottom of fist with right (palm up);
step back with right, pivot to bow, left elbow against his right elbow, snap his
joint.
B1.) Starts like ‘A’, after punch; step right with right to naihanchi; maintain
grip on right wrist, release left grip, swing right inside forearm against his
right inside upper arm nerve point to bend his arm, pull his right arm right
with right, shift to right Bo, rotate arms (palms down) as you slide the left
forearm so left arm has his right arm in arm lock; right punch to head; step
270° back with right, pivot; take down.
B2.) Same as ‘B1’, twist right outward to outside forearm against his right
shoulder, left hand reverse grip on his right wrist, push wrist forward,
stepping forward take down.
C.) Starts like ‘A’ except use outward extended strike; step right with right to
naihanchi; reverse hook back of neck with right, rotate his head and right arm
clockwise; rotate hands counter clockwise, left to his right elbow crook, right
to grip back of neck; left hand lifts his right arm, continue twisting him
clockwise; shift 90º to left Bo, throw his head to left with the right, place
his back on left knee; pin his right arm to your left side with left hand,
retract right arm to strike; grab his right hand with right, twist to pin or
break, keep his right elbow tight to your side with left arm.
D.) Low. Start as ‘A’ except; hook his right wrist with right thumb, pull
right wrist to left hand; plant forward with right; right punch face, left pull
his right arm to our right armpit; circle right arm around right wrist, catch
with crook of right arm, right elbow tight against right side, left forearm on
right elbow; step back with right, pivot 180 º; takedown or break right elbow.
3.
One Armed Boxer. (ABCD1-2,E1-2). Left arm unavailable.
A.) Right punch. Step forward with right to fighting stance, right inward
parry, 45º dropping knife hand to right side neck/clavicle; continue motion,
right uppercut to left floating ribs; cross back right with left to twisted
stance, cock right hand; pivot to fighting stance, right knife hand to back of
neck then throat; right side kick to knee.
B.) Right punch. Step forward with left to fighting stance, right upward
circular crane parry, continue to right middle knuckle strike to right floating
ribs; crescent step with right, back knuckle strike to right floating ribs;
pivot 180° to bow, right tiger mouth to throat, throw to floor; follow up.
C.) Right punch. Crescent step forward with right to the outside, right
outward reverse knife hand parry; pivot to fighting stance, right elbow to his
right ribs; outward parry and hook his right arm pulling it down; right tiger
mouth to throat, shift 90° to bow, throw to floor.
D1.) Left punch. Step forward with right to fighting stance, right
outward extended blocking strike left punch, right elbow to left side head,
right crane claw to eyes; right lift kick to groin, plant forward 45º right with
right to fighting stance; left 45° kick to inside left leg.
D2.) Left punch. Right crane hook, continue motion; step forward with
right to fighting stance, right four knuckle rake to nose, continue motion,
right hammer fist to groin.
E1.) Left-right punch. Step back with left, right crane hook his left
punch; right palm heel right arm; right front snap kick groin, plant forward to
fighting stance, right tiger claw eyes.
E2.) Right-left punch. Inward parry right punch, outward crane wrist left
punch; right front snap kick to groin. right tiger claw to face.
4. The Drawbridge. (A1-3,BC1-3).
Shoulder grab.
A1.) Right hand left side. Grab his right wrist with left, step forward
behind right leg with right, right tiger mouth or palm heel to throat or chin;
pivot 180° to bow, right 45° forearm twist strike to shoulder joint, rake down
to biceps, circle right arm 360°, hammer fist to chest or left side neck, throw
to ground; drop right knee to rib cage, right punch to face.
A2.) Start as ‘A1’ to throw; right hand slides to his wrist; pull up and right
heel stomp to face; cross back left with right, drop to right knee, break right
elbow on left knee.
A3.) Intercept. Grab the inside right wrist with the left, step forward
with the right behind his right leg, right tiger mouth to throat; lower head,
lift his right arm up and over your head; position his elbow on top of the
seventh cervical vertebrae, right hand rotates to the left side of his neck;
pull down and straighten up, break elbow.
B.) Right hand right side. Step forward 45° left with left, pin his right
hand with right to right shoulder, left vertical forearm to right elbow; pivot
to fighting stance, break right elbow; left crane hook right crook of arm, pivot
forward to bow, right palm heel to right side jaw; right crane hook back of
neck, left hand pins right arm to body; pull down head with right, right knee to
groin or solar plexus.
C1.) Left hand right side. With the
right, grab the front of his shoulder, left to guard; step back (slightly) with
the left, pivot 180° to dropping stance, right
side kick to his knee; pull him down to the ground with the right.
C2.) Pin his left hand to shoulder, step back with left to fighting
stance; right middle knuckle strike to Tw-12; shuffle forward, right middle
knuckle strike armpit; circle right arm counter clockwise right 45° above his
arm, finish like “Kimono Grab ‘A1’”.
C3.) Pin his hand to shoulder with the left, cross over with the left to the
triangle spot; circle right arm counter clockwise pulling and pinning his
forearm; circle right arm counter clockwise
behind his back pushing forward; circle right leg, pivot, throw to the ground;
shuffle forward if necessary, follow up with dropping right knee to the body,
right punch to the head.
5. Striking Serpent.
(AB1-2). Left punch.
A.) Step forward 45° right with right to Bo, right inward parry, left outward
parry and catch; left Thai kick to neck -or- heart point; pull his left arm
down, side kick with left to left knee; pull his arm right, plant forward to
fighting stance; right spinning. heel kick/stomp to head.
B1.) Start as ‘A’; then twist his left arm (elbow up), pull towards left hip,
right hand to guard, left side kick to left ribs; plant forward to left half
bow, continue pull with left, right uppercut to left ribs; inverted right crane
hook left crook of his arm; (keeping arm pinned to chest), pivot 180° to half
bow, left elbow to face.
B2.) Start as ‘B1’; pivot to left twisted stance, pull with left and right
uppercut to left elbow with right crook of arm, right elbow to left ribs;
maintain grip with left, circle right arm counter clockwise to right palm to neck
(Gb-16); place both palms on top of his head; push down and left knee to
face.
6.
Locking the Arm.
Set II. (ABC). Resist.
A.) Wrist. Keep the right arm straight to prevent the arm lock, step back
with right to cat, strike his hips with buttocks; lift both arms and drop elbows
outside his forearms pin to sides; cross grab and finish like “Bearhug (Fib)
‘C’”.
B.) Elbow. Step forward 45° left with right; twist right wrist free,
pivot to fighting stance; catch his left hand with right pinning to elbow, raise
right arm vertical outside his left arm; apply pressure 45° down against right
forearm; step forward right-left, kneel with right.
C.) Shoulder. Cross back left with right, twist right wrist free and
forward, reverse and swing right arm counter clockwise to outside left arm, step
back with left; pivot and kneel with right, press down and out on left forearm.
7. Full Nelson. (ABC).
A.) Reach up with both hands and pry a finger loose; finish like “Bearhug (Fib)
‘B’”.
B.) Hands in fists. Step right to naihanchi, pull elbows down to side;
crescent step with left behind his right leg to naihanchi; bend down at waist,
punch straight down with right, left elbow straight up; right uppercut to groin;
crane hook his right knee, lift up, left elbow to body for take down; follow up.
C.) Intercept. Pin his arms to side (allow enough through to work with),
cross catch fingers (right inside), twist down until he rises on toes, complete
like “Bearhug (Fib) ‘C’”.
