Boys

Boys are those male students under the age of thirteen. Due to their youth, requirements that tax an adult are next to impossible for them to achieve. In response to this situation, we allow them to test for their rank by kata performance. The kata on their test are identical to the kata an adult would perform for the same rank. Boys are not required to test over the limited self defense techniques they are taught for every belt; nor are they required to test for the Kobujutsu kata in that belt rank. Boys' self defense techniques are, most of the time, identical to the adult techniques. Some Kumite Jutsu techniques have been shortened or 'toned down' in violence. If a boy wishes to learn the Kobujutsu kata for the belts, he may do so. When he turns thirteen, he enters the adult level classes. Extremely small underdeveloped boys may remain in Boys Classes, if, they so desire. Boys retain the rank they have achieved in their Boys Classes when they move up to Adult Classes. They merely 'fill in' the missing material as they continue learning the requirements for their new rank. Sixteen is the minimum age for Shodan; so, take your time.
