Hachikyu (Yellow Belt)
1. Bearhug (Free in front). Set I.
(A1-4,B1,B3).
A1.) Step back with right to T-stance, left hand circles around behind
his head, grab hair (forehead if hair is too short or missing), pull back and
down, right knife hand thrust (palm down) to throat.
A2.) Start as A1; then; double gouging thumbs to eyes or throat.
A3.) Start as A1; then; double palm strike to ears.
A4.) Head facing right on chest. Start as A1; then; right supported
thumb under jaw, left hand grabs nose; push up with right, left hand pull nose
away from body; re-grab (right grabbing back of his head, left his chin), twist
head counter clockwise to free. (Reverse if facing left).
B1.) Suspended. Head up. Double palm to ears, rotate and Crane claw eyes,
double palm heel to neck (right high (St5), left low); catch jaw with right, top
side of head with left; twist to break.
B3.) Head against chest. Insert left middle and ring fingers into his
nostrils and pull up; right tiger fist to throat.
2. Locking the Arm. Set I. (A1-3BCDEF).
Right arm bar lock.
A1.) Wrist. Punch forward with left, step back 45° right with left; pivot
to fighting stance, left side elbow to face; counter grab right wrist with
right, step forward 45° right with left, rotate hand clockwise, pull right arm
to right hip with right, right front snap kick to right armpit (H-1).
A2.) Same to rotation, (he fights pull), left front snap kick to knee, plant
forward with left, left forearm against right elbow; pivot, break elbow or take
down.
A3). Start as A1, step forward 45° left with left, cross back with right;
continue as A1, kick where you like; plant forward to proper distance; step
forward with left, finish like A2.
B.) Elbow (cant go forward). Step back 45° right with left, left palm
heel grab groin, left elbow straight up to chin; complete as in "A1" series.
C.) Cranks it up. Start as in 'A', twist left hand free; bend forward and
straighten right arm.
D.) Reverse grip. Step forward 45° left with right - or - forward 45°
right with left; pivot to bow, right hammer fist to groin, left punch to face or
thumb to eye.
E.) Left hand grab. Start as in A1, counter grab left wrist with right;
pivot to fighting stance, left rear elbow to his left elbow to free, left hammer
fist to groin; continue attack.
F.) Loose rear left arm bar choke. Step right with right; pivot left 90°
to bow, left rear elbow strike solar plexus; finish like A series.
3. Head Lock. Set I. (AB1-2,CE).
A.) Turn head towards his body, bite.
B1.) Start as A; step back with leg closest to his side and kneel, same side
reverse knife hand to groin, other hand pulling down on his arm.
B2.) Facing towards him. Step back with leg opposite to his grab and
kneel, finish same as B1.
C.) Twist head towards body, step forward with right to fighting stance, double
hammer fist: right to groin, left to kidney; circle left hand up and over head,
one finger supported to philtrum; pull head back and across left leg, right
hammer fist to heart.
E.) Avoid. Rotate head: down and left, chin on chest; step back
with left to natural stance; duck under his right arm; right four fingertip
strike to groin, left hand on his right hip.
4. Restraining Hold. (A1-2,BCDE).
Lockups. (working on his left side described).
A1.) Starting position: Kneeling on right knee, left knee up, his left
arm is on the inside of our right arm, he is face down on the ground. Catch his
left hand with the left, palm against the back of his hand, thumb on the styloid
process of his ulna, fingers gripping his thumb, place the right forearm on the
distal anterior portion of his humerus; fold his arm 90° on top of his back,
right hand on his left shoulder, left forearm in the crook of right arm, left
arm is bent 90°, left hand maintains grip on his left hand, left elbow on top of
his bent elbow; right arm is bent 90°, forearm under his bent left arm, on his
back; to cause pain: straighten the right arm, elevating his bent arm; to
dislocate: continue elevating his arm.
A2.) Switch hands. Start as A1; from the lock: reposition left leg to
behind his left elbow; pull his left arm, elbow to medial left shin; and pin,
left elbow, (anterior to the shin) on top of his, left hand applying pressure to
the pin; maintaining the pin, elevate his left hand enough to extricate right
arm from the lock; replace left hand with the right hand, thumb proximal to the
posterior medial metacarpal heads (back of the hand on the last two bones near
the knuckles); slide left arm, on top of his elbow pressing down at all times,
to back of his elbow, grab the elbow with left hand; at the same time: release
pressure on his arm by lowering his left hand slightly, swing his left arm
counter clockwise, elbow as close to spine as possible; then rotate his left
hand to right scapula or - as far as possible, to complete the pin.
B.) Vertical. Start as A1; place right pectoral over and on left hand;
press downwards to force his left shoulder to the ground; place right radius
against his left elbow, pull back against elbow to restrain or break; for
additional leverage place left elbow against right fist and press in to chest.
C.) Maintain grip on his left arm as he goes to ground; quickly step along side
of him and kneel with the right knee on the ground beside his head, shin resting
on his shoulder joint; lean weight onto right shin, pull up on his left arm.
D.) Start as C except; slide left foot under his left shoulder, arm in air;
twist his left arm counter clockwise while pressing downwards; bend left knee to
apply pressure on his left elbow with the shin.
E.) On Back. Position his right arm on right knee; step over his head
with the left leg using the right leg to turn him over to his stomach; reverse
right leg dropping shin on his neck as you kneel with right leg; use left hand
to twist his right arm to arm lock; place his right elbow in crook of left leg
for lockup.
